A Tennessee House Subcommittee has preliminarily approved a partial government takeover of gold and silver.

Utah's governor vetoed a similar bill last year, calling it "operationally impracticable" while flagging conflicts of interest from self-interested vendor(s) who proposed the public-private partnership scheme in the first place.
House Bill 2427 effectively establishes a Central State Digital Currency (CSDC) in Tennessee. Just like a Central Bank Digital Currency, this imposes the same type of government-run money control scheme that central planners have lusted after for years.
