(Richmond, Virginia - January 25, 2022) - Members of the Virginia House of Delegates have voted overwhelmingly to keep gold and silver purchases tax free in the Commonwealth.
Last week, House Bill 3, sponsored by Del. Ware, reported out of the House Finance Committee with a 19-2 vote.
Earlier today, the House of Delegates voted to keep the existing sales tax exemption in place by extending the sunset date until 2027.
After passage in the House, House Bill 3 will now be transmitted to the Virginia Senate.
